Bristol Is Top City For Home Movers
Bristol has been named as the most popular destination for prospective
homebuyers, according to research by email4property.co.uk, the largest network of local estate agent websites.
The city, which is proving increasingly popular with homebuyers has received more interest than any other destination in the UK. Records taken from the email4property.co.uk site over the past six months have shown that Bristol, on average has received over 10,000 more online searches for property each month than any other city.
With a thriving local economy, sustained over the past decade by the many financial and technical industries that have located in the city, Bristol has held its position as one of the ten most populated cities in the UK. The industrial presence has ensured that demand for housing is high, and along with a top university and convenient travel links into London, the property market in Bristol remains buoyant.
A large number of young professionals are now choosing to either move to the city or opting to stay on after university, making it their home. In addition, the airport has seen an increasing number of flights to international business and tourist destinations, reinforcing its strong commercial and tourist position. This has ensured a high demand for apartments in the city centre, where prices have remained affordable.
Terraced homes are the most popular option for homebuyers, accounting for the majority of sales throughout the city. With an average price of £176,744 in 2006,the large supply of terraced property will ensure the Bristol property market grows.
David Bexon, Managing Director of email4property.co.uk said:
“In spite of a dynamic local economy and a thriving housing market, prices in Bristol have remained competitive. This has kept property attainable for a broad range of buyers and continues to attract the attention of potential investors, who are also looking further a field as prices continue to drive buyers out of the London.”
